Introductory Award Teacher Ambassador Scheme

Calling all primary teachers!

Critical Thinkers warmly invites your primary school to participate in our Teacher Ambassador Scheme, taking place early 2022.

Our new Introductory Award has been developed by a team of educational psychologists and experienced teachers. The Award will enable your students to enhance their flexibility and learning by becoming better at problem solving, expressing their ideas and adapting to change. They also provide transferable skills for the future and the world of work, including collaboration, goal setting, resilience, emotional intelligence and critical thinking. Completing this award will encourage independent learning and will develop children from all backgrounds and abilities.

All schools working with us on the Ambassador Scheme will need to select one cohort which they will support to achieve the Introductory Award. The optimal year group for the award is Year 6 (Key Stage 2) as the Award enhances skills which are invaluable for the transition to Secondary School. The Award works perfectly as a post SAT’s activity.

Schools will need to have a designated Teacher Assessor who has successfully completed training from Critical Thinkers. One place is offered per school on the training session. The Teacher Assessor training will be held in March 2022.

Students will need to complete a Student Portfolio. Once students have completed their Student Portfolio, it will be assessed by the Teacher Assessor at the school and moderated by a Critical Thinkers Moderator.

Needless to say, we believe there are great benefits for working with us on the Teacher Ambassador scheme:

  • Accredited CPD training in topics covered in the Award and parent resources

  • Full scheme of work and resources including; a Student Portfolio matched to required competencies, a Teacher Handbook including guidance, suggested activities and delivery ideas, and PowerPoints

  • Guiding your students to improve skills which will support their transition to secondary school and beyond

  • Individual support and a feedback session with a Critical Thinkers Moderator

  • All learners completing the portfolio within the Teacher Ambassador Scheme will receive a Critical Thinkers certificate

  • Fulfils OFSTED criteria in relation to enhancing personal development, behaviour, attitudes and welfare of pupils whilst promoting moral, social and cultural development

  • Being one of the first schools to take part in this innovative initiative and help shape its future is very exciting!
